East African Breweries Limited (EABL) will be leasing office space at the upcoming Garden City Business Park along Thika Highway. The first stage of the construction will be complete at Q2 of 2019.
The brewery signed a lease with the Business Park’s developer, Actis, on Monday. The lease will allow EABL to occupy Grade A office spaces of an unspecified amount.
The office complex under construction is located next to the EABL existing offices in Ruaraka, Nairobi. EABL is contemplating taking 2,000 to 3,000 square metres of office space. The brewery’s commercial office block was established in 1972 and has been the main operational centre since then.
“We are looking forward to moving some of our corporate functions into the new offices. A good working environment for our employees is something we place a big premium on. This move ensures the teams moving in can reside in a fresh and positive workspace,” Andrew Cowan, EABL managing director stated.
Chris Coulson, Garden City managing director said the Business Park, which will be added to the total 47-acre mixed-used Garden City project, will provide 25,000 square metres of Grade A offices, a healthcare facility, two hotels, and more than 400 mid-market residential units.
The office complex will have a secure entrance, green spaces, and a pedestrian-friendly boulevard linking it to the mall, the 215 residential units in Garden City Village, and a 3-acre central park.
“We are delighted to have signed a pre-let agreement with EABL as our first tenants to take up space in Garden City’s new office complex, which is just the first phase of the larger 60,000 m2 Business Park development still to come,” Coulson said.
