Last week, Jubilee Insurance Holdings launched three digital products that are accessible through android applications. The NSE listed company aims to increase uptake and improve service delivery through these three digital products. These apps include JubiAgent, Medical, and JubiAgent Motor which can be downloaded from Google Play store. Additionally, customers with feature phones can access the services by dialling *8643# USSD premium text service.

The digital products will remove the utilisation of diaries by agents, use of paper to document for each transaction, and the need for customer to agent interaction for transactions to take place.

“The future is digital and my question to our IT team was when would our customer interact with us on a digital platform to transact business. Now we have a platform and the greatest task for our agents is to boost trust among our customers to promote the use of our platforms,” Nizar Juma, the company’s chairman said.

Julius Kipng’etich, the regional group CEO said the move will put to an end the use of documents to establish customer identity because the firm’s IT backbone is connected to the Integrated Population Registration System owned by the government. As a result, identifying customers is faster and it enables conducting transactions virtually as well as eliminating the risk of fraud since customers will access services with a PIN.

The digital products also apply to Jubilee agents who will conduct all transactions via mobile phones where customers will pay for medical and motor cover premiums using a pay bill number.

“If a client raises a medical alert, we can access their location digitally and advise them which hospital nearest to them accepts the Jubilee medical card,” Patrick Tumbo, Jubilee Insurance CEO stated.
